Last year, we definitely were very much in the beginning of the ‘learning curve’ as far as trolling artificial for stripers. But, like the saying goes ‘even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while…’ Riley and I tried our luck on Badin Lake, near Badin, NC. We were able to catch this guy, about a 6lb fish, not huge, but a lot of fun for us! We caught this guy trolling a double bucktail rig, tipped with a green worm off of lead core line, running 2-3 colors in the water. Typically, we run 3 lead core lines, and a couple of down riggers. Usually, we pull double bucktail rigs, or sassy shad style baits, such as those put out by Striper Sniper. Lately, we have been also working in some a-rigs into our spreads, also tipped with Striper Sniper or similar soft plastics. Tight lines, y’all!
