What’s biting at Badin right now? (August ’22)

With it being this hot, the bite can be tough. White bass on topwater during the early morning hours can be had by either (carefully) going up behind the dam, or in the vicinity of the circle drive boat ramp. Small shad-colored crankbaits, or topwater lures work, as well as small swimbaits. Stripers are around, and feed more consistently early in the mornings, and bite better the more overcast the conditions are. Yesterday, I managed two keepers trolling Sniper Striper 3.5 in swimbaits using lead core line, 2-3 colors deep. Main lake points and humps, but since it’s Badin, you have to watch out for those submerged trees, they will cost you a lot of snags. Tight lines!
