Brilliant Fishing NC · Card coverage
South Carolina Offshore Coverage
South Carolina offshore fishing references, from Hilton Head and Beaufort north through Little River, with overlap into southern North Carolina.
Where does this card cover?
This collection covers South Carolina offshore waters from the Hilton Head and Beaufort region north through Charleston, Georgetown, Murrells Inlet, and Little River, then continues into the Ocean Isle Beach and Cape Fear area.
The set brings together individual reef and structure placements, charted wrecks and obstructions, natural hardbottom, habitat observations, and named offshore reference areas.

- Edisto and Charleston
- McClellanville, Georgetown, and Winyah Bay
- Murrells Inlet, North Myrtle Beach, and Little River
- Ocean Isle Beach and the southern Cape Fear overlap area
What’s included?
- 836SC artificial reef / structure placements
- 49SC charted wrecks
- 53SC charted obstructions
- 65Natural hardbottom targets
- 44Ocean Isle habitat observations — within NC overlap
- 130Southern NC overlap waypoints
These are waypoint counts, not unique reef-site counts. The 49 wrecks and 53 obstructions make up 102 SC wreck/obstruction references. The southern NC overlap includes several feature types, including the 44 Ocean Isle habitat observations, so these category and coverage counts should not be added together.
Reef & structure placements
The collection contains 836 individual deployed-material and structure targets within South Carolina reef complexes. A single named reef can contribute many useful placement waypoints.
Individual placements help distinguish specific targets within a larger reef complex.

Named offshore areas & natural bottom
The collection includes general-area references for familiar offshore features such as Georgetown Hole, Winyah Scarp, Charleston Bump, and the offshore banks. It also includes 65 natural-bottom targets, including ledge, shelf, and hardbottom references.

General-area labels help with trip planning and orientation. They do not identify one exact piece of productive bottom.
Federal restricted-area references
Reference points are included for selected federal Marine Protected Areas and Spawning Special Management Zones. These locations may have special fishing restrictions.
A reference waypoint is not the legal boundary. These points may mark a reference position or polygon center. Consult current NOAA Fisheries and South Atlantic Fishery Management Council rules and area boundaries before fishing.
Understanding the waypoint data
Some waypoints identify an individual object or observed habitat target. Others mark an approximate reef center, named area, contour feature, or general fishing region. Read each waypoint’s name and description accordingly.
Use the collection as a reference for planning and investigation. Coordinates do not guarantee fish-producing spots.
Source & use notes
The collection consolidates artificial-reef and structure records, charted wreck and obstruction references, natural-bottom observations, chart-derived fishing references, named offshore areas, and user-confirmed general areas.
Reef materials can shift, settle, deteriorate, become buried, or differ from their originally published position. Natural-bottom conditions and fish presence also change.
The waypoints do not replace current nautical charts, sonar, or prudent seamanship.
Southern North Carolina overlap
This is primarily a South Carolina product. Its northern end intentionally includes 130 overlap waypoints in southern North Carolina: reefs, wrecks, fish havens, hardbottom, habitat observations, and named fishing areas.
Fishing across the state line?
The overlap is useful for anglers running from Little River, North Myrtle Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Shallotte, or the Cape Fear region. It includes 44 specific Ocean Isle habitat-observation points.

Ready to install your waypoints?
Use our installation page for directions for your chartplotter brand. Confirm the required file type and waypoint capacity for your exact unit before importing.
File formats & chartplotter setup
The collection includes GPX for compatible chartplotter imports and KMZ for viewing, organizing, and trip planning in Google Earth.
Import requirements vary by chartplotter model. Many Garmin, Lowrance, Simrad, Furuno, and newer Humminbird units support GPX. Older Humminbird models may require conversion to HWR. Follow the directions for your exact unit, including any conversion steps.
